Summer Camp Week 9

Morning Mediation LASC Morning Care
Grades: K-12th

Summer Camp Week 9, July 29th-August 2nd | K - 12th Grade | $50 ($45 Members) 

Need to drop off early? No problem, begin the day by joining our morning meditation starting at 8am. Students can enjoy activities such as yoga, stretching, getting your body moving and more all while under the stars in our planetarium. LASC staff will guide students to their classrooms at 8:45am.

MAD Scientists
Grades: Pre-K (Ages 3-5)

Teacher: Dani Garner | July 29th-August 2nd, 9:00am - 12:00 pm | $200 ($175 Members)
Grades: Pre-K (ages 3-5) (Must be bathroom independent)

Calling all little scientists in the making! Get ready to explore all things science. Little explorers will love making slime, conducting science experiments, going exploring around the LASC building and much more! We’ll also enjoy a planetarium show and meet some of LASC’s animal friends.

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide one peanut-free snack, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Junior Detective Training CLASS FULL
Grades: K-2nd

Teachers: Audrey Harmon & Alli Baker | July 29th-August 2nd, 9:00am-4:00pm | $350 (members $325) 
Grades: K-2nd grade 

Myrtle the Turtle has gone missing at the LASC! We need your help solving the mystery of who took the turtle. Using the techniques that detectives and forensic scientists use, your student will unravel the mystery of the turtle snatching. Students will learn and put to action using evidence, critical thinking and analysis skills. This is just one animal case that needs to be solved. Join us to see who else needs our help.

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut-free snacks, one lunch and a personal water bottle for their child.

Animals in all Mediums CLASS FULL
Grades: 3rd-5th

Teachers: Alli Baker & Meredith Coffey | July 29th-2nd, 9:00am-4:00pm | $350 (members $325)

Do you love animals, art and science? In this camp students will explore all the wonderful patterns, textures, and shapes animals have to offer. Through artworks in both 3D & 2D styles, students will get to create their own favorite animals. All while learning about animal adaptations, animal engineers, wildlife facts and more!

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut-free snacks, one lunch and a personal water bottle for their child.

LASC Mural Painting
Grades: 6th-8th

Teacher: Stevie Moore | July 29th-August 2nd, 9:00am-4:00pm | $350 (members $325) 
Grades: 6th-8th 

Join LASC for its first-ever mural painting class. Students will be led by local artist Stevie Moore. Stevie Moore has been teaching at LASC for over 20 years and is super excited to lead this class in a large mural painting experience. Students will get the chance to learn the insides and outs of what goes into creating a mural. This class will have a rare opportunity to create a large mural inside of the LASC’s Marksberry Discovery Exhibit in preparation for the 2024-2025 exhibit. You don’t want to miss being a part of this unique class.

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut-free snacks, one lunch and a personal water bottle for their child.

Learn to Screen Print
Grades: 9th-12th

Teacher: Gaby Hoss | July 29th-August 2nd, 1:00pm-4:00pm | $200 (members $175) 
Grades: 9th-12th 

Learn about the many different ways to properly use a screen to create one of a kind prints in this hands-on approach class in Screen Printing. We will go over different processes, print on unique materials and create prints that show student's one of a kind creativity.

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide one peanut-free snack, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Intro to Wheel Throwing Basics
Camp Gold Ages 50+

Teacher: Meghan Taylor | July 29th-August 2nd, 1:00pm-4:00pm | $200 (members $175) 
Ages 50+

Join LASC for its second ever Golden Summer Camp. A class geared for students ages 50+. Join instructor, Meghan Taylor in the clay studio to learn how to work with clay on the potter’s wheel. Students will spend the week learning how to center, open, pull and trim on the potter’s wheel as well as use different texture tools and decorating techniques. Come ready for a mess and a lot of fun!

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. 

Learning Lounge (Aftercare)
Grades: K-12th

Summer Camp Week 9: July 29th-Augsut 2nd | K - 12th Grade | $50 ($45 Members)

Join LASC for the aftercare Learning Lounge. Students can enjoy supervised crafts, games, activities and recreation time after class. Students must be picked up by 5:30pm.
