Rooted in Time


250 years of Lexington trees! Art by Nature: Rooted in Time opens Friday, Oct. 17, at the Living Arts and Science Center, 362 N. Martin Luther King Boulevard.

We are celebrating trees that have stood the test of time and been here 250 years or longer. Trees all around have been chosen for their beauty and resilience. You can find a list and map of trees below. Locations will be marked with an "Art by Nature" sign.

The opening reception will be held Friday, Oct. 17, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The exhibit features 136 pieces from 93 local artists. Digital art, photography, painting and mixed media are all among the mediums included. Many pieces are available for purchase.

Admission to the gallery is free for Art by Nature events. Additional events include:

  • Saturday, Oct. 25 | Guided Painting | 10 a.m. – noon | Register at lexingtonky.gov/artbynature  | $5 fee for painting supplies at the door

  • Friday, Nov. 21 | LexArts HOP | 6 – 8 p.m.

  • Saturday, Dec. 13 | Closing Reception | 11 a.m. – Noon
