Summer Camp Week 6: July 6th-10th

Morning Meditation LASC Morning Care
Grades: K-8

Summer Camp Week 6, July 6th-10th | K - 8th Grade | $50 ($45 Members) 

Need to drop off early? No problem, begin the day by joining our morning meditation starting at 8am. Students can enjoy activities such as yoga, stretching, getting your body moving and more all while under the stars in our planetarium. LASC staff will guide students to their classrooms at 8:45am.

Slimy Bugs & Slugs
Grades: Pre-K (ages 3-5)

Teacher: Ruth Cathy | July 6th-10th, 9:00am - 12:00 pm | $200 ($175 Members)
Grades: Pre-K (ages 3-5) (Must be bathroom independent)

Does your kiddo love ooey gooey slimy bugs and creepy-crawlies? In this hands-on camp, little entomologists will explore insects and reptiles, go on bug hunts, and meet live animals at LASC. Campers will create fun projects like bug goggles, magnifying glasses, and LOTS of bug slime while learning the importance of observing and protecting their new tiny friends. A perfect week for curious preschoolers who love nature, hands-on exploration, and a little messy fun!

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide one peanut-free snack, and a personal water bottle for their child.

STEAM TEAM
Grades: K-2nd

Teachers: Kylie Adams | July 6th-10th, 9:00am - 4:00pm | $350 ($325 Members)

Calling all young scientists and artists! Get ready for a week-long fun blend of both science and art. Each day, campers will dive into hands-on STEAM experiments that turn scientific ideas into colorful creations. They’ll paint with bubbles, mix slime, build spinning color wheels, create shadow puppets, and watch colors “walk” through water to explore chemistry, physics, and light. Perfect for curious kids who love to experiment, invent, and get a little messy!

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Trashion (Recycled Fashion)
Grades: K-5th

Teacher: Meredith Coffey | July 6th-10th, 9:00am - 4:00pm | $350 ($325 Members)

Who wants to walk the runway? Get ready to unleash your inner designer in this exciting summer camp class! In Recycled Fashion, students will learn how to transform everyday recycled items into stylish, one-of-a-kind pieces. This class is all about creativity, sustainability, and fun! You’ll gain hands-on experience with basic sewing techniques, and upcycling methods while exploring the world of eco-friendly fashion. Plus, we’ll dive into the importance of sustainability and how fashion can be part of the solution to environmental challenges. At the end of the camp, students will showcase their creations in a fun, fashionable runway show, where you can share your innovative designs with friends and family. Whether you’re passionate about fashion or just want to make a positive impact on the planet.

Cosmic Color Lab
Grades: 3rd-5th

Teacher: Amy Schmidt | July 6th-10th, 9:00am - 4:00pm | $350 ($325 Members)

A summer camp for curious minds! Dive into the dazzling world of light, color, and cosmic wonders. This exciting camp is perfect for young explorers fascinated by science, the mysteries of the universe, and the magic of rainbows. Campers will spend time in LASC’s Farish Planetarium exploring stars and constellations, while also enjoying colorful art projects, mind-blowing experiments, and plenty of hands-on fun!

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Book Club - The Reading Retreat
Grades: 6th-8th

Teacher: Gaby Hoss  | July 6th-10th, 9:00am - 4:00pm | $350 ($325 Members)
Grades: 6th-8th grade 

The Reading Retreat is a creative summer camp designed for students who love books and imagination. Campers will spend time reading their chosen books and bringing stories to life through art projects inspired by what they read, including painting, drawing, mask making, and Model Magic sculpture building. Students will also explore creative writing by crafting short stories and characters of their own. This relaxed, creative camp is perfect for readers who enjoy expressing ideas through both words and art.

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Learning Lounge LASC Aftercare
Grades: K-8th

Summer Camp Week 6, July 7th-11th | K - 8th Grade | $50 ($45 Members)

Join LASC for the aftercare Learning Lounge. Students can enjoy supervised crafts, games, activities, and recreation time after class. Students need to be picked up by 5:30 pm.
