Summer Camp Week 1

Food or Fake? (Cooking & Sculpting Food) CLASS FULL
Grades: 6th-8th Grade

Teachers: Meredith Coffey & Dani Garner | June 3rd-7th, 9:00am-4:00pm | $350 (member $325)

Cooking and Sculpture in the same class, who would have thought! In this class, students will take a deep dive into learning basic cooking skills and then take it a step further by creating fun food sculptures. Students will learn to bake and cook simple meals that their whole family can enjoy for dinner. Students will also spend some of the afternoons learning to work with paper mache and plaster. They will be creating 3D sculptures in the representation of REAL food items. Don't miss the ultimate food challenge. Is it real or fake? 

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut-free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Digital Painting and Collage with Master Artist Lennon Michalski
Grades: 6th-8th Grade

This is your chance to learn from a master! Local artist, Lennon Michalski, has had works of art exhibited here at the LASC, nationally and beyond. In this painting studio inspired class students will work on their very own masterpieces using a variety of collage materials and painting techniques. Don't miss out learning about Surrealist Landscapes from Lennon! This is a chance few students get to experience.

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut-free snacks, one lunch and a personal water bottle for their child.

Drawing: Deep Dive into Comics
Grades: 9th-12th Grade

Teacher: Kenn Minter | June 3rd-7th, 1:00pm-4:00pm | $200 (members $175)

Students have the opportunity to learn from local artist Kenn Minter (master of comics.) Kenn Minter has been drawing comics for over 40 years .In this class students will learn to draw comics, perfect already known comic drawing skills, sharpen your drawing skills and color use. We’ll investigate the various categories of comic books, graphic novels, and cartoons as we create amazing creatures from imagination to paper!

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide one peanut-free snack, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Ceramics Galore CLASS FULL
Grades: 3rd-5th Grade

Teachers: Marianne Brown & Meghan Taylor | June 3rd-7th, 9:00am-4:00pm | $365 (member $340)

Grades: 3rd-5th

Let's play in clay! In this class, students will learn all things ceramics by two wonderful clay instructors, Marianne Brown and Meghan Taylor. Join us as we explore different techniques of forming clay by hand. Usng patterns and textures form in clay students will have the opportunity to create their own cups, bowls, mugs, and more! 

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut-free snacks, one lunch and a personal water bottle for their child.

Morning Meditation LASC Morning Care
Grades: K-12th

Summer Camp Week 1, June 3rd-7th | K - 12th Grade | $50 ($45 Members) 

Need to drop off early? No problem, begin the day by joining our morning meditation starting at 8am. Students can enjoy activities such as yoga, stretching, getting your body moving and more all while under the stars in our planetarium. LASC staff will guide students to their classrooms at 8:45am.

M.A.D Camp
Grades: Pre-K (Ages 3-5)

Teacher: Audrey Harmon | June 3rd-7th, 9:00am - 12:00 pm | $200 ($175 Members)
Grades: Pre-K (ages 3-5) (Must be bathroom independent)

Are your preschoolers ready to get M.A.D? Join us for this class, all about Music, Art and Dance! In this class students will sing, blend dance with music, make crafts, listen to stories, and learn about why it's important to get moving! Preschoolers will also enjoy a special visit from the purple ukulele who begins class each day. 

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide one peanut-free snack, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Camp Time Machine
Grades: K-2nd

Teacher: Grace Kistner & Audrey Harmon | June 3rd-7th, 9:00am - 4:00 pm | $350 ($325 Members)

Have you ever wondered how people lived 100, 200 or even 300 years ago? Jump on our Camp Time Machine in order to find out! In this class students will be blasted back into time exploring and learning about different time periods through history. We’ll start in the 1700s and travel right up to the present day. Activities through our journey will include creating your own lava lamp, basket weaving, exploring pop art culture and much more along the way. Join us as we turn back the clock in time.

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut-free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Learning Lounge LASC Aftercare
Grades: K-12th

Summer Camp Week 1: June 3rd-7th | K - 12th Grade | $50 ($45 Members)

Join LASC for the aftercare Learning Lounge. Students can enjoy supervised crafts, games, activities and recreation time after class. Students must be picked up by 5:30pm.
