Summer Camp Week 4

Camp Gold: Beginning Ceramics, Make a Vase, Make a Bowl
Ages 50+

Teacher: Marianne Brown | June 24th-28th, 1:00pm-4:00pm | $200 (members $175) 
Ages 50+

Join LASC for its first ever Golden Summer Camp. A class geared for students ages 50+! Join the fun and expand your ceramic skills with professional artist Marianne Brown. You’ll learn basic hand-building skills, throw on the potter’s, form your own designs and textures. This 5-day class is a wonderful introduction to all things clay.

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center.

Journey to Mount Olympus
Grades: 6th-8th

Teachers: Dani Garner | June 24th-28th, 9:00am-4:00pm | $350 (members $325)

Have a Percy Jackson lover at home?

Join us for this class, where we’ll take a deep dive into the world of Greek Mythology! Learning about some of the most popular and influential stories of Gods and Heroes; students will spend the week completely immersed in the world of Greek Mythology, from creating art projects like designing their very own Mt. Olympus and making jewelry with Persephone’s pearls, to an awesome Jeopardy!-style battle at the end of the week, and so much more!

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut-free snacks, one lunch and a personal water bottle for their child.

Morning Meditation: LASC Morning Care
Grades: K-12th

Summer Camp Week 4, June 24th-28th | K - 12th Grade | $50 ($45 Members) 

Need to drop off early? No problem, begin the day by joining our morning meditation starting at 8am. Students can enjoy activities such as yoga, stretching, getting your body moving and more all while under the stars in our planetarium. LASC staff will guide students to their classrooms at 8:45am.

Seed Camp
Grades: 3rd-5th

Teacher: Meredith Coffey | June 24th-28th, 9:00am-4:00pm | $350 (members $325)

Let's create a garden! Students will learn about all gardening and optimal conditions for plant growth. We will start to grow vegetables, flowers, fruits, and herbs! We will also learn about soil, soil layers, and where you can and can't grow certain plants. Students will also learn about different biomes and climates that are best for growing gardens, the role of farmers in our society, GMOs, photosynthesis, and the positive impact that community gardens can have on big cities. Students will also explore the LASC grounds looking at different plants and animals. 

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut-free snacks, one lunch and a personal water bottle for their child.

Animal Engineers
Grades: Pre-K (ages 3-5)

Teacher: Grace Kistner | June 24th-28th, 9:00am - 12:00 pm | $200 ($175 Members)
Grades: Pre-K (ages 3-5) (Must be bathroom independent)

Embark on a week of exciting adventures and learn all about our wonderful animal engineers. Students will engage in hands-on learning by exploring insects, dry areas, water, and underground habitats. Each day will be filled with imaginative play, captivating stories, creative crafts, and games that allow students to experience the engineering marvels of animals. Join us for a week of discovery, creativity, and laughter that will leave you eagerly anticipating each day's unique adventures!

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide one peanut-free snack, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Camp Discovery

Grades: K-2nd

Teacher: Alli Baker & Meghan Taylor | June 24th-28th, 9:00am - 4:00pm | $350 ($325 Members)
Grades: K-2nd 

Join the LASC team as we learn, grow, create and discover together! In the morning students will become mini biologists learning how to identify plants, explore animal habitats and environments. As well as conduct live science experiments using plants and nature. In the afternoon students will shift to become artists. Exploring the grounds around LASC to collect nature items such as leaves, sticks, plants, rocks and more! Students will use their found objects along with a variety of treasures from our attic to create magnificent pieces of art fit for a gallery.

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.

Learning Lounge Aftercare
Grades: K - 12th

Summer Camp Week 4: June 24th-28th | K - 12th Grade | $50 ($45 Members)

Join LASC for the aftercare Learning Lounge. Students can enjoy supervised crafts, games, activities and recreation time after class. Students need to be picked up by 5:30pm.
