About the Program
This 8 week program, offered both in the Fall and Spring, focuses on STEAM learning for elementary and middle school students.
Our Living STEAM Academy introduces students across Fayette County to a variety of art and science curriculum. Each year students learn about new ideas through the themes reflected at our in house Discovery Room.
In the past they have explored the Living Connections theme which utilized gadgets and gizmos to help children learn about severe weather, animal habitats, energy, biodiversity, and humans' environmental impact on Earth. In our Project: THINK theme, students were introduced to the six major lobes of the brain, their functions, and how we use them in our everyday lives.
This school year, students have been learning about the farm to table process in our Sown, Grown, and Served: Sustainable Journeys of Our Food theme. Students are invited into the world of farming where they explore how their food is grown, the different stages they go through before making their way to our tables, and how agriculture impacts our communities and surrounding environments.
