3. Mayan Clayworks

Take a cultural journey to the ancient Mayan empire and learn how
they created symbolic designs in clay. We’ll study their designs and
hieroglyphs and incorporate them into our clayworks. Each student will
make a sun mask, a decorated flute, and a pot resembling an animal. All
pieces will be fired, painted and enhanced with gold.

4. Mini-You Fabric People

You’ll design a figure in fabric that represents you
your appearance and things you like. We’ll draw a design and then
construct and assemble it by cutting and sewing fabric and embellishing

5. Masks as Relief Sculpture

In this class we will be casting our faces in plaster. These
“masks” will be mounted to become a relief wall hanging. With
inspiration from the natural world, students will paint their relief

their unique personality.

Combine the artistry of form with function for engineering and
design challenges! Using creative and scientific talents, we will work
