Back to School!

It is so much fun to be back at school! Let’s share our fun
back-to-school experiences. We’ll listen to some fun favorite
back-to-school stories that will inspire us as we make some
“back-to-school” art. Imagine and create a school field trip scene, and
draw pictures of your own classroom to share with the class. We’ll
design lots of fun things to use at school, and we’ll discover new uses
for buttons, glitter glue, and mosaic tiles when we make a school
memory box.

3. Acrylic Painting: As
Ships Go Sailing

Let's use our skills and imaginations to capture the oceans, boats,
ships, and islands in this end-of-summer acrylic painting class. Learn
new techniques with a variety of brushes and a palette knife to create
sea and sky.

4. Kaleidoscopes

The world is filled with magical patterns and color when viewed through
a kaleidoscope. In this class you’ll learn how they work as you build
your own from the inside out.

6. Printmaking Pizzaz!!
Kriis Zeps
Get creative and have fun with design and color as you learn about
relief printmaking. We'll create summer-themed relief stamps and
blockprints that can be used in class and enjoyed at home.

7. Amazing African
Masks
Julie Blackburn
African masks were developed by various regional cultures to reflect
their past and to be used in ceremonies. We’ll learn and be inspired by
some West-African masks and stories, and then you’ll create a personal
mask that reflects your own style. We’ll use cardboard, yarn, paint,
pasta and other items to make a wonderful piece suitable for hanging.

8. Horse Illustration
Stevie Moore
Learn about the physique and anatomy of the horse. In this class we will
focus on perspective, shading, proportions, and composition of Equine
art. Starting with pencil and charcoal drawing we will learn the body
of the horse and also create a colorful horse in a scenic landscape with
chalk pastels.

9. Marble Maze Madness

We’ll construct an amazing toy that will keep you and your friends
entertained for hours! We’ll create maze patterns and transfer them to
shoeboxes. Then we’ll switch them around and have races to see who can
solve them the quickest!
