The Annual Giving Campaign allows the Living Arts and Science Center (LASC) to continue to serve the needs of Lexington and the surrounding communities, while adhering to its mission to “provide creative and unique opportunities for exploration and education in the arts and sciences”.

The LASC is committed to making the arts accessible to everyone through its unique free or low-cost educational programming that is designed to engage the entire family.  LASC also provides outreach to schools, youth groups and social service agencies, as well as multicultural celebrations and professional development for teachers.

 ISN’T IT GREAT THAT YOU CAN GIVE TO ONE ORGANIZATION THAT PROVIDES:

• 400 classes and workshops to over 35,000 participants ages 18 month to adult
   

• Field trip programs to over 5,000 students of public and private schools
   

• Programs and services to more than 300 school teachers and community educators
   

• 7-9 art exhibits in the LASC Gloria Singletary Gallery
   

• Monthly Discovery Night programs with guest artists and scientists
   

• Art classes for at-risk, special needs and underserved individuals
   

• Programs to public schools, with large percentages of academically at-risk students
   

• Free hands-on art activities at over 25 community events that include the Woodland Art Fair, Arbor Day at the Arboretum and the LASC’s own Family Fun Day

With less than one-half of our program costs covered by tuition or ticket income, the Living Arts & Science Center must depend on individual financial support in order to ensure continued success of our unique year-round programs and services as well as maintaining our beautiful historic building.

Gifts to the Annual Giving Campaign allow us to keep the cost of classes low, provide scholarships, exhibit local art at no charge and continue to provide exceptional discipline based art education.
